Kosova Street in Fevzi Çakmak Neighborhood, according to the information obtained, residents of the 3-story building noticed cracks in the columns and reported the situation to the authorities.
Upon this, police, AFAD, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the area. The residents of the building were evacuated as a precaution.
The teams conducted an inspection of the columns of the building. As a result of the inspection, it was decided to seal the building.
The building was sealed by the municipal teams. 15 people from 4 families living in the building were taken to the municipal facilities in Balyanoz village.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
In Mevlana Neighborhood of Gebze, Kocaeli, on October 29, a 7-story building collapsed, causing the death of Emine (37) and Levent Bilir (44) along with their children Muhammet Emir (12) and Hayrunnisa Nur Bilir (14) who were tenants in the building. Dilara Bilir (18) was rescued alive. 21 buildings, 28 businesses, and 79 independent units were evacuated in the area as a precaution. Expert teams continue their work in Gebze.
